SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
GENERAL GUIDELINES
Please read our submission guidelines carefully before submitting.
RAW Journal of Arts is open to submissions year-round on a rolling basis. We respond to all submissions and aim to keep our response time as short as possible.
There is no set deadline per issue. Once we have accepted enough pieces for an issue, future submissions will roll over for possible inclusion in the next issue.
** All submissions need to include a cover letter and a brief third-person bio; you may also include links to your social media accounts and/or website with your bio.
We happily accept simultaneous submissions in all categories but fiction, but please mention this in your cover letter, and notify us immediately via email if your work is accepted elsewhere.
We ask for First North American Rights and First Electronic Rights to publish. Individual rights revert to the artist upon publication. We kindly ask that you credit RAW Journal of Arts as the place your work first appeared.
RAW Journal of Arts retains the right to archive your work on our website as well as to publish it in print or an anthology.
All submissions must be in English.
Please note that upon acceptance, your submission may be edited for spelling and grammar.
All work must be your own.
Our guidelines are subject to change. We suggest reviewing them prior to submitting.

UPON PUBLICATION
To help your work reach a larger audience, your work may be promoted on our social media outlets or included in a print publication or anthology.
GENRE GUIDELINES
POETRY
The subject of your email and title of your document should read:
POETRY SUBMISSION: (your last name)
Please send via email to rawcommunity.submissions@gmail.com
Please send submissions of up to 6 poems in the body of the email or as a Word .doc or .docx attachment.
Please do not include your name in the manuscript. We take efforts to read blindly.
If you are sending in visual poetry, please include it as an attachment and send it as a .jpg or .png and as high-quality as possible.
Sending multiple works in this category is encouraged.
We also encourage you to submit to our other categories in addition to poetry.
All poems should be in one file but with each poem on a separate page.
We do not accept reprints or previously published work in this category.
* We will occasionally accept work that has been previously posted to your Instagram page as long as you state this in your cover letter *
FLASH FICTION / SHORT STORIES
The subject of your email and title of your document should read:
FICTION SUBMISSION: (your last name)
Please send via email to rawcommunity.submission@gmail.com
Please send one piece (1,500 words or less).
Please include the word count either in the document or in your cover letter.
Please note that shorter stories will be read first.
We do not accept simultaneous submissions or previously published work in this category.
Please send as a single-spaced Word document (.doc or .docx) with minimal formatting.
PHOTOGRAPY
The subject of your email should read:
PHOTOGRAPHY SUBMISSION: (your last name)

Please send submissions of up to 8 photographs.
Sending multiple works in this category is encouraged.
We also invite you to submit to other categories in addition to photography.
Please include a brief third-person bio along with your submission. You may include any links to social media and/or websites along with your bio.
Please make all image submissions .jpg or .png and as high-quality as possible. Please send them as an attachment in your email.
In order to preserve the high-quality of your submission, you may send your photography in multiple emails if needed.
In this category, we accept previously published work if it was published to your Instagram or Facebook, however, please let us know if this is the case in your cover letter; we do not accept reprints or previously published work published elsewhere.
ARTWORK

In this category, we are looking to raise awareness of various causes, illnesses, disorders, journeys, and battles, as well as to share stories about everyday heroes, etc.
We do not accept simultaneous submissions in this category. We do accept previously published work in this category.
If you have written an article and it is posted on your social media or your blog, and you would like us to consider it for publication in RAW Journal of Arts, please include the link to your post in your email.
